The page falsely attributed the product to an author named “I.A Money.” I strongly advise against purchasing any products that promise easy wealth, especially from dubious platforms like Hotmart.com.

The Facebook video ad promoting the Profitable Messages Telegram app scam was, in fact, marketing a product ultimately named Digital Freedom on Hotmart.com. Lasting 58 seconds, the ad featured a woman sitting in a car, offering a fake testimonial. She claimed she earned hundreds of dollars daily by solving CAPTCHA security tests for major corporations like Amazon, Apple, and Google. The ad, which had garnered over 8,700 likes, 800 comments, and 1.8 million views as of August 10, 2024, was part of a broader effort to defraud people through false promises.

The Scam Websites: A Deep Dive

The link embedded in the Facebook ad directed users to a scam website called biggest-news.online, which was deliberately designed to mimic the official Telegram app or website. From there, users were redirected to another scam site, new-ruffle.online, where they were shown a longer video that was riddled with false claims designed to convince them of the scam’s legitimacy.

The False Promises in the Scam Video

I transcribed much of the longer video from new-ruffle.online, and it was immediately apparent that it was filled with lies. The video’s narrator, whose voice was generated by artificial intelligence (AI), made outrageous claims, suggesting that users could earn thousands of dollars simply by sending messages on Telegram.

The video began with the narrator stating, “You know that feeling of waking up every morning and going to the same job? So, I’m not going to promise you an island paradise getaway or that you’ll be a millionaire after watching this video, but I can offer you something as satisfying as discovering a new profession that will increase your income by up to 12 times more while you’re still in bed.”

These outlandish promises were clear indicators that the Profitable Messages Telegram app was not legitimate. The video even showcased luxury cars to entice viewers further.

Unmasking the Lies: One Example

One of the most laughable claims in the video was when the AI narrator stated, “I’m not here to ask for anything in return.” This was an obvious lie, as the final step of the scam involved coaxing victims into purchasing the Digital Freedom product on Hotmart.com.

Targeting Vulnerable Individuals

The Profitable Messages Telegram app scam preys on individuals dissatisfied with their jobs or wages. The AI-voiced narrator in the video specifically targeted people in low-paying jobs, promising them a way to escape their financial struggles.

“I understand this may sound too incredible to be true, right? To be honest, until recently, I also never imagined that my life could change so drastically,” the narrator said, before going on to describe a lavish lifestyle supposedly made possible by using the Telegram app to send security messages.

The Scam’s Shoddy Presentation

The video even attempted to lend credibility to the scam by showing a photo of former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, falsely claiming her name was “Elizabeth Duroff.” This blatant lie is one of many used to deceive viewers.

The Final Step: A Hotmart.com Purchase Page

After the Facebook ad, the fraudulent websites, and the deceptive video, the scam culminated in a product-purchase page on Hotmart.com. This page asked users for their personal information and credit card details, all under the guise of selling a product called Digital Freedom by “I.A Money.”
