Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2025: Basic Training School Batch 38 Application Guide

The Nigerian Navy has officially announced the commencement of applications for the Basic Training School Batch 38 Recruitment Exercise. This recruitment provides a golden opportunity for qualified Nigerians to serve their country and build a rewarding career in the Navy.

Online registration begins 2nd October 2025 and closes 31st October 2025, while the recruitment examination will take place on 29th November 2025 at designated centres nationwide.


General Information

  • Application is FREE OF CHARGE and must be completed online via www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng.
  • Only one valid application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will be disqualified.
  • After applying online, candidates must print the following documents:
    • Acknowledgement Form
    • Parent/Guardian Consent Form
    • Local Government Attestation Form (signed by a military officer of at least Commander rank in the Navy or its equivalent in the Armed Forces, or a Local Government Chairman)
    • Guarantor’s Certification Form

Eligibility Criteria for Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2025

To qualify, applicants must:

  1. Be Nigerian citizens by birth.
  2. Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  3. Be between 18–22 years (for SSCE holders) or 18–26 years (for NCE/OND holders) as of 31st December 2025.
  4. Be at least 1.68m tall (male) or 1.65m tall (female).
  5. Be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
  6. Have no criminal convictions.

Educational Requirements

  • O’Level/SSCE Applicants: Minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than 2 sittings (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) not older than 2019.
  • OND/NCE Applicants: Must meet the same credit requirements, with an age limit of 18–26 years.
  • Chaplains/Imam Assistants & Drivers/Mechanics: Eligible up to 28 years of age.
  • Tradesmen/Women: Must hold Trade Test Certificates plus a credit in English and four passes in relevant subjects (results not older than 2015).
  • Medical-related Professions: ND from recognized institutions plus a valid practicing license.
  • Sportsmen/Women: Must provide certificates and medals as evidence of professional achievements.
  • All applicants must be proficient in English Language.

Key Notes for Applicants

  • Recruitment into the Nigerian Navy is FREE. Do not pay anyone to apply or gain admission.
  • The Attestation Form must include the passport photo of the referee and be authenticated with a valid ID (Driver’s License, International Passport, or National ID).
  • Successful applicants will undergo basic military training and then be enlisted into the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
