Universities that offer Cyber Security course in Nigeria

Studying Cyber Security as a course in the university is becoming more and more lucrative with the proliferation of internet connectivity in Nigeria.

Cyber security will teach you how to safeguard business transactions on the internet as well as how to protect corporate assets, intellectual property, government infrastructure and and almost any infrastructure that is online including power grids, data bases etc.

It is a very interesting course with wide application, and also given that it is relatively new in Nigeria with very limited universities offering it, studying this course at the university cannot be less lucrative.

Requirements to Study Cyber Security in Nigerian University

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

* Must have at least 5 O’level credits, including English, in no more than 2 sittings.

  • DIRECT ENTRY: Available
  • UTME SUBJECTS: Mathematics, Physics and any other Science subject
  • O’LEVEL SUBJECTS: Mathematics, Physics and any two Science subjects

O’Level Requirements

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Cyber Security Science;

Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two other science subjects

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) FUTMINNA requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and/or Chemistry and any other Science subject. For Cyber Security Science is the same as Computer Science.

Direct Entry Requirements

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Cyber Security Science if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;
(i) Two A/L passes in science subjects including Mathematics

(ii) NCE with at least Merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject.

How many Years Does it take to study Cyber security In Nigeria?

Studying Cyber Security Science at all Nigerian university through JAMB UTME has a time duration of four (4) years. While If you gain admission through direct entry, you will study this course for three (3) years. However, the course will last 5 years at both  FUTMINNA and Federal University of Technology, Akure, four years for the course and one extra year for compulsory industrial training (IT).
