How to check UIF status & balance 2024

Checking UIF Status and Balance Online:

    On the UIF website, click on the “UIF Benefits” tab, your entry point to the UIF online portal.
  3. Register or Log In:
    If it’s your first time, click “Register” to create an account. For returning users, log in with your credentials.
  4. Check UIF Status:
    Once logged in, proceed to the “Check UIF Status” tab. Enter your ID number and click “Submit.”
  5. Review UIF Status:
    View your UIF status on the displayed page:
  • Active: Currently contributing, eligible for benefits if unemployed.
  • Inactive: Not contributing, ineligible for benefits during this period.

Checking UIF Balance:

To check your UIF balance online, follow these steps:

  1. Log onto https://ufiling.labour.gov.za/uif/.
  2. Click on “Check My Balance.”
  3. Follow on-screen instructions.
  4. Enter the Captcha number.
  5. Proceed to enter your UIF Reference Number.
